The EU General Data Protection Regulation like other new global privacy and cyber laws sets new requirements on managing consumer and employee data. The new standard for companies will require organizations know what data they keep on individuals and provide access, erasure, consent history or timely breach notification to those users. This requirement requires a new ability for organizations to find, inventory, map user data while also correlating meta-data like consent back to the data subject.
